Disruptive innovation affects all sectors, requiring leaders to adopt an entrepreneurial approach to remain relevant. Innovation and entrepreneurship can be learned, not just reserved for tech giants and start-ups.

Learning Outcomes

The workshop aims to equip directorate and senior officers with key insights and tools to harness the value of data and analytics for more efficient and reliable public services. It will address the critical role of data in driving innovation and high-quality development in the digital economy, and including cutting-edge advancements such as Generative AI.

Upon completion of the workshop, the participants are expected to be able to:

    – Key concepts: From data collection to actionable insights in the age of AI

    – Principles and frameworks for data analytics

    Session 2: Generative AI and Data Analytics 

    – AI for data analysis and decision-making

    – How generative AI adds value in public service data analysis

    Session 3: Communicating Data Insights

    – Data-driven storytelling to make data insights impactful and easy to understand for stakeholders.

    – Tools and methods for visualizing complex data effectively.

    Session 4: Building a Data-Driven Culture

    – Strategies for fostering a data-centric culture within government bureaus and departments.

    – How to implement policies that ensure ethical, responsible, and effective use of data.

    Session 5: Bringing It All Together: Actionable Insights for Data Leadership 

    – Group discussion: How participants can integrate learnings from the day into their respective departments.

    – Reflection on AI and data governance in organizations
