Programme Overview

This module will cover sustainable and green finance with a focus on Hong Kong, Mainland China and Asia Pacific. Various sustainable finance instruments and how ESG elements are factored in credit ratings are covered. ESG rating, ESG investing and sustainability reporting are also covered.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants would be able to:

  • compare and contrast various sustainable finance products
  • describe and quantify the costs and benefits of green finance as it impacts credit ratings
  • explain and critique the ESG ratings
  • apply the ESG strategies in equity and bond investment
  • analyse ESG and sustainability reports for listed companies

    Topics to be covered include but are not limited to:

    1. Green Loans, Social Loans and Sustainability-linked Loans
    2. Green Bonds, Social Bonds and Sustainability-linked Bonds
    3. ESG Rating
    4. ESG Investing
    5. ESG Impact on Corporate Credit Rating
    6. ESG and Sustainability Reporting for IPO Issuers and Listed Companies
