Xixin Wu received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degree from Beihang University, Tsinghua University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), respectively. He is currently a Research Assistant Professor with the Stanley Ho Big Data Decision Analytics Research Centre, CUHK. Before this, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher with the Machine Intelligence Laboratory, Cambridge University, U.K. Xixin received the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award from the Faculty of Engineering, CUHK in 2019.

In 2020, His team won the first place in an international challenge of non-native children’s speech recognition in the flagship conference, INTERSPEECH. He also led a team to win championship in the SciTech Challenge (open category) 2021 with the project entitled “Dysarthric Speech Reconstruction” that aims at leveraging AI-enabled speech technologies to help people with difficulty in pronouncing words due to a neuromotor disorder -- dysarthria.

Xixin has published over 50 papers in the journals and conferences in speech research areas, including IEEE/ACM Transactions on Audio, Speech and Language processing, IEEE ICASSP and ISCA INTERSPEECH, etc. His research interests include human-machine interaction, speech synthesis and recognition, speaker verification, and neural network uncertainty.
